2005 General election results map

The map below shows, in equal size, all 646 parliamentary constituencies in the UK, coloured by winning party at the 2005 general election. This overcomes the problem of disproportionate ‘weighting’ of constituencies in normal maps, e.g. Labour won 55% of seats, mostly urban, but these seats only cover 22% of the UK. The Lib Dems, on the other hand, won 10% of seats but because many of these are rural they cover 30% of the UK.
